Naan Mahan Alla
Susindhran (the Director) takes full charge of the script right from the alternative establishing sequences before & after the title credits, to the point where these parallel lines are met in the latter half. Susindhran characterizes every role to perfection and limits them to their impotance. Though the director takes his own time to establish the plot, his screenplay comes to the rescue and keeps the viewers entertained. But he is seen wasting no time in the latter half, as he concludes the flick with a blazing speed which results in an advantageous 131 min duration. Jayapraksh, who proved his ability to perform in ‘Pasanga’ & ‘Nadodigal’ plays the perfect dad, sharing a great on-screen chemistry with Karthi. Cinematography by Madhi & Art direction by Rajeevan slides the frame into every angle giving the viewers a peek into a realistic middle-class family with some elegant lighting. Madhi choses to give us more than half-a-dozen slow motion sequences which become monotonous after a point of time. Music by Yuvan comes in limited edition with this flick as it showcases only 3 tracks, but sets the screen on fire with some racy background scores scortching the cinema hall. Thus, it’s a ‘Thumbs Up’ for ‘Naan Aahaan Alla’, a thorough entertainer. Though the flick showcases an array of supportng artists, it will seem as if the entire load rests on Karthi’s shoulders (a result of a magnificent characterization for the Jeeva).
Note : For all those ‘Thala’ fans out there, Venkat Prabhu decides to give us a peek into his next venture with a 50 sec teaser before the movie begins. Now that’s one platinum of a marketing strategy by Cloud Nine…!!
